Greetings Kendo Ontario Community!

We hope everyone is healthy and well during these challenging times.

It’s unfortunate that Covid-19 is preventing us from practicing Kendo together through traditional means in the dojo. However, Kendo Ontario endeavours to provide opportunities for members of the Kendo community to improve their development of Kendo through online seminars and events. This month, we are holding a session dedicated to the understanding and development of Women’s Kendo.

Open Practice and Panel Discussion

Please join us for an Open Practice and Panel Discussion to learn from some of the leading women Kendoka in Canada.

Both the practice and the discussion will be centered around longevity in Kendo and how to foster lifelong Kendo as both a player and as a leader in the kendo community.

We welcome and encourage men and women of all skill levels to this event as it will be open to any and all adult Kendoka who would like to gain insight on not only promoting and developing lifelong kendo but also women’s Kendo within their dojos.

The session will be hosted by Kyrene Kim Sensei of Etobicoke Kendo club. We are pleased to announce that the event will be joined by a panel of several of the top Women Kendoka in Canada including Junko Ariyama Sensei (6 Dan, Montreal Kendo Club), Makiko Ara Sensei (6 Dan, Renbu Kendo Club), Yuko Miyamoto Sensei (5 Dan, Toronto Kendo Club), Akane D’Orangeville Sensei (5 Dan, McGill Kendo Club), Juneko Kurahashi Sensei (4 Dan, Renbu Kendo Club).
