Call for Volunteers
Dear Ontario Kendo Federation Members
We’re looking for volunteers to help organize the upcoming Junior and Senior National Kendo Championships to be held in Markham, Ontario on August 12th and 13th of this year. As a Federation, we are extremely excited to host such an important event for Canadian Kendo.
We will need a large number of volunteers to ensure the tournament runs smoothly and meets its full potential as a marquee event.
Volunteers are needed for eight separate committees, the details of which are listed below:
Tournament Logistics Committee – Responsible for ensuring the preparations and on-day logistics run smoothly
Voluteer & Setup Committee – Responsible for recruiting, training, and organizing volunteers before, during, and after tournament
Facility, Accommodations & Transportations Committee – Responsible for coordinating accommodations and transportations that require it. Additionally, working with the facility to ensure all tournament needs are met
Marketing & PR Committee – Responsible for all marketing and communication assets
Meals & Food – Ensuring all meals and food is covered for the 2 days
Social Committee – Organizing two social events: one for Saturday, one for Sunday (Juniors)
Sponsorship, Awards & Vendors Committee – Coordinations with vendors. Solicit sponsorship for the event
Finances – Responsible for tracking all revenue and expenses
If you have relevant experience on any of the above committees, we highly encourage you to put your name forward.
